Hysteroscopy

Diagnostic hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to examine the inside of the uterus and identify abnormalities that may not always be clearly detected through routine imaging. It may be recommended for women experiencing abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, recurrent miscarriage, suspected uterine polyps or fibroids, and other conditions affecting the uterine cavity.

During the procedure, a thin instrument called a hysteroscope is gently introduced through the vagina and cervix into the uterus. The attached camera allows direct visualization of the uterine cavity without requiring abdominal incisions.

Diagnostic hysteroscopy can help identify uterine polyps, submucosal fibroids, intrauterine adhesions, uterine septum, and other structural abnormalities. In selected cases, diagnosis and treatment may be performed during the same procedure.

The procedure is planned according to the patient's symptoms, medical history, and previous investigation findings. Recovery is generally quick, allowing most women to return to routine activities within a short period.
