Hysteroscopic septal resection is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat a uterine septum, a congenital condition in which a band of tissue partially or completely divides the uterine cavity.

A uterine septum may be associated with recurrent pregnancy loss, infertility, or pregnancy complications in some women. The condition is usually evaluated using ultrasound and other imaging techniques when required.

During the procedure, a thin hysteroscope is introduced through the vagina and cervix into the uterine cavity. The septum is carefully divided using specialized instruments without requiring abdominal incisions.

Treatment decisions are based on individual symptoms, reproductive history, and clinical findings. Hysteroscopic treatment may help restore the shape of the uterine cavity and improve reproductive outcomes in appropriately selected patients.
