Laparoscopic myomectomy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to remove uterine fibroids while preserving the uterus. It may be considered for women experiencing heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, pressure symptoms, infertility, or other problems associated with fibroids.

The procedure is performed through small abdominal incisions using a laparoscope and specialized surgical instruments. The fibroids are carefully removed, and the uterine muscle is repaired to restore its structure.

Treatment planning depends on the size, number, and location of the fibroids, symptom severity, previous treatments, and the patient's reproductive goals. Not every fibroid requires surgery, making careful evaluation essential before selecting treatment.

In appropriately selected patients, laparoscopic myomectomy may offer less postoperative discomfort, smaller scars, shorter hospitalization, and faster recovery compared with conventional open surgery.
