Hysteroscopy

Operative hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions affecting the inside of the uterus. It is performed by introducing a thin hysteroscope through the vagina and cervix, eliminating the need for abdominal incisions.

The procedure may be recommended for uterine polyps, submucosal fibroids, intrauterine adhesions, uterine septum, abnormal uterine bleeding, and selected fertility-related conditions.

Specialized instruments passed through the hysteroscope allow treatment to be performed under direct visualization. Depending on the condition, operative hysteroscopy may involve removal of polyps or fibroids, division of adhesions, or correction of certain uterine abnormalities.

Treatment is planned according to the patient's symptoms, diagnosis, medical history, and reproductive goals. Recovery is generally faster than with conventional surgical procedures.
