Pelvic Pain

Pelvic pain refers to discomfort in the lower abdomen or pelvic region that may be acute or chronic. It can arise from gynecological conditions such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, pelvic inflammatory disease, fibroids, adenomyosis, or non-gynecological causes involving the urinary or gastrointestinal system.

Symptoms may include persistent pelvic discomfort, painful periods, pain during intercourse, lower back pain, or pain during urination or bowel movements. Diagnosis involves a detailed clinical evaluation, pelvic examination, ultrasound, and additional imaging or laparoscopy when required.

Treatment focuses on addressing the underlying cause and may include medications, hormonal therapy, physiotherapy, lifestyle modifications, or minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery.
